CHRISTIE'S again representing Michael Doven FINE ART

This one is called: EVEREST VALLEY.

It is for the 2nd Annual GREEN AUCTION to benefit the ENVIRONMENT: "A BID TO SAVE THE EARTH".

Proceeds to benefit Conservation International, Oceana, Natural Resources Defense Council and the Central Park Conservancy.

Bidding is open until 7 April 2011 12:00pm You can bid on the art at the following link:

http://www.charitybuzz.com/auctions/ABidtoSavetheEarth/catalog_items/256001

It is a large photographic print of a part of this planet that I have a great love for.

"Some years ago, I rented a helicopter and went from Kathmandu, Nepal to Mt. Everest Base camp. I had tea with the Lamas at the highest monastery there and saw the mountain of my dreams and took images.

As we turned back down valley to return to Kathmandu I saw the most spectacular blue distant huge mountain ridges in the distance that we would be passing and I shot from the Heli. The combination of our altitude (18,000 feet) and the clear day cause the color temperature to go very blue to the eye and on the film negative.

The result was a view of the Everest Valley we never see.

This is a fine art Giclee print on Museum matt Archival Hahnemuhle paper.

Shot with a Mamiya 7 on film, from Helicopter near Everest.

30”wide by 24” high, EVEREST VALLEY, 3 of 5

Last year my CENTRAL PARK print (see below) sold at this same auction and also sold again that week elsewhere for $9,500.

If you are interested in bidding for the charities, please do so. If you would like to contact me directly, I will be happy to help you. Please e mail me ("contact" from website). www.michaeldoven.com

Are your images effective?

As I travel, speak, shoot and teach I find artists, photographers and business people all over the world seeking to improve their particular scene or area. It could be their business or brand or marketing or website or income or relationships or even how to open the right doors. Invariably there exists their current environment circumstances (scene) and a goal of a more ideal place they would like to be.
There are very specific and real action steps one can take to improve his or her life.
Identifying where you really are and where you really want to be is key to getting anywhere.
Deciding to get there regardless of all barriers is crucial as well.
A strategic simple plan of how to get from A to B is essential.
Endurance, persistence, yes, of course these help but mostly once the above is in place we come to the famous Nike slogan......JUST DO IT!

So, I have been consulting/speaking and teaching for some years now and I have just now put up a site for this Consulting type of work (as very separate activity form shooting images).

So for those who are interested in these subjects, I introduce you to Dovenconsulting.com.
May you each obtain your ideal scenes!
Best,

Michael

Caribbean Islands & Rain Forests!

Just off the plane from St. Kitts, Dominique and Barbados. Stunning beaches and waterfalls with hikes in the rain forests. We had the international Artists Convention where I teach Photography and film making to students from around the world. We had amazing students and seminar leaders again this year and they produced wonderful work. It was a privilege for me to share with them and learn from them as well. Catamarans, skin diving, cliff jumping, hot springs, dances and variety nights and amazing food!

We did not sleep much but we sure did LIVE LIFE! Lots of youth and enthusiasm. It is very refreshing and NOT serious!

I wish for you all the spirit of play in all your work!

Think Tank camera bags are THE BEST in the world!!!!! You don't believe it? go to this link:

Christies representing my CENTRAL PARK, NYC photo!

I was contacted by Christies International Auction, who asked if they could represent my Helicopter image of Central Park.!!! Ahhhh....errrrr... aahhhh ...... let me see.....um....YES!

Here is the deal:

For the first time in History, Christies Auction house is doing an auction to raise awareness of caring for our planet with all proceeds dedicated to raising funds for 4 environmental not-for-profits — Oceana, Natural Resources Defense Council, Conservation International, and Central Park Conservancy. It is called the GREEN auction and will occur at Rockefeller Plaza in NY on April 22 with a red carpet, etc. Many movie industry notables are involved in this event. (see promo)

They asked to represent my fine art aerial photographic piece CENTRAL PARK (40” Giclee print on watercolor paper) which happens to be right on theme for them for a number of reasons. (It is an exterior viewpoint!)

I was honored to be invited (as only a few were selected) and I wanted to help, so I donated a large beautiful color print (Limited edition This is #1 of only 5 and #2 just sold today as well).

Although 100% of the sale of the items go direct to the charities, I would still like for my art to have helped the most and would love to see it get a very fair price and find a good home! I would be honored if it contributed and is appreciated.

If you know of anyone who loves NY or might be interested in this exclusive image, and/or the tax deductable causes I am asking you to let them know that the bidding is open from April 8 (9am) until May 6 and can be done online at: http://www.abidtosavetheearth.org/

Christies offered to broker for me any additional purchases for those who did not win the auction.

If you are not interested in the auction process, or Christies, but are in the art (or services), let me know.

I am also available to shoot commissioned pieces (homes, properties, etc.) in a similar style to create custom art so please let me know if I can help you in any way.

Thank you for taking your time to read this and I look forward to seeing you soon.

Be well!

Sincerely, Michael

RISE!!!!

RISE!!!!!!!!! I demand it! : )

I just finished Directing the music Video of RISE by Michael Duff.

Amazing performance and song - a kind of rock ballad by a true artist.

We shot at Lake Powell, Utah for 3 sunrise mornings and then for 2 more days in LA.
Denice Duff as the DP using her Canon 5D Mark II got amazing footage.
We had many friends who helped along the way (see end credits).
Enjoy the art and the communication!

Best, Michael
